Reflections: The Fullness of Time, a Tapestry.

Autofiction (a literary genre that blends autobiography and fiction) of one man’s search for understanding of his world and purpose, ranging from a hippie commune in British Columbia to working in Botswana, studying in England and exploring a range of therapies. And is that a guardian angel who keeps appearing in his life?

From the author:

This book delves into one man’s emotional struggles, complete with relationship meanderings and intimate conversations. Touching on travel in the outer world, it explores human behaviour, weaving in psychological and therapeutic concepts, focussing on the protagonist’s inner life as it develops over a lifetime.

While navigating the behavioural paradoxes and perilous minefields within the human psyche, this journey probes the layers of conscious love and attraction, as well as the murky depths of unconscious misogyny. The narrative weaves together themes of a body’s betrayal, heartfelt friendships, the healing power of therapy, spiritual exploration, a guardian angel, life in the bush, and native wisdom shared by those wiser than him.

Flodden

A historical novella of one of the greatest defeats in Scottish history.

September 9th, 1513

As evening approaches on a wet English hillside, James IV, King of Scots, stands at the head of his 20,000-man army. Across a shallow valley, the Earl of Surrey has gathered a smaller army who have come to defend King Henry VIII’s realm against the invaders.

The English are tired and hungry, having marched eight miles without respite since dawn. The Scots are rested, ready to fight, and hold the vital high ground.

A Scottish victory seems assured.

A masterful tale of pride and ruin. Ross brilliantly captures the tragic folly of a king whose hubris leads him and the flower of Scotland to disaster.

Alistair Tosh, author of The Edge of Empire series

Beyond the Wall

A stag, its eyes pleading, haunts a woman’s dreams. An antique-market find reveals a hidden truth. A man, looking from his bedroom window, wonders exactly where it is his neighbour has gone.

A collection of fourteen short stories and eight poems from the author of Empire’s Legacy, unrelated to the series.

‘the writing is exquisite, as always. There’s a steady and quiet reflection to these stories and verse.’

Dog Eared World

‘City Girl.’
“The overall feel of [City Girl] has an intimate, yet slightly comedic, introspective tone – like Lena Dunham and Helen Fielding.”

K. Michaels, editor, Literary Gararge.

‘Red and Wolfe’
“Denisha Naidoo takes a fizzy approach, tartly satirizing human greed in a taboo-busting crime story
that twists and turns like an Orwellian corkscrew.”

Naomi Foyle, editor, Gramarye.
